Role Overview
The Drafting & Design Specialist updates and maintains engineering drawings to support MOC requirements and project activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and traceability. The role works closely with engineers and project teams while utilizing CAD tools and drawing management systems to produce high‑quality, up‑to‑date documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Drawing & Design Updates
- Revise and update engineering drawings (e.g. P&IDs, isometrics, electrical and instrument schematics) based on approved MOC documentation and project deliverables.
- Ensure all changes are clearly marked, traceable, and comply with drafting standards and revision control procedures.
- Incorporate redlines, markups, and field changes provided by engineers, supervisors, or inspectors.
MOC Documentation Support
- Collaborate with MOC coordinators and discipline engineers to understand the scope and impact of changes.
- Ensure drawing updates are completed within the required MOC timelines and properly linked to MOC records.
- Maintain drawing logs and revision histories for audit and traceability purposes.
Project Execution
- Provide drafting support during project design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Generate new drawings or modify existing ones to reflect project scope changes, equipment installations, or layout adjustments.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to integrate third-party drawing into project documentation.
Collaborate and Communicate
- Work closely with engineer teams, document controllers, and operations personnel to ensure drawing accuracy and relevance.
- Attend MOC and project meetings as needed to clarify drafting requirements and timelines.
- Provide technical input on drawing formats, layering conventions, and CAD best practices
Software and Tools Management
- Use CAD software e.g., AutoCAD or similar to produce and edit drawings.
- Maintain proficiency in drawing management systems (e.g. EDMS, SharePoint).
- Support digital transformation initiative such as 3D modelling, intelligent P&IDs, and BIM integration.
